Under The Bed

As I sit there slaving around after my family, I watch my brother getting beaten for not collecting the firewood. My name is Miya and I live in South America, my family is very poor - I live in a house made of mud, flax and bamboo. In our house we have only two beds, one for Aunty and one for Dad. My mum died only two years ago from not eating and drinking enough. My brother and I haven’t started school yet because we have to work to make money to buy food. My brother is 12 years old and I’m only 8. On Mondays and Wednesdays, I work at a clothing shop, that’s how I got my pretty new blue dress but Dad wasn’t very impressed because I didn’t get paid that week. I’m too young to get beaten so I was punished and was not allowed eating for three days and doing a double lot of chores for a week. My life is bland and boring - there is nothing enjoyable about it.

This morning when I woke up I gave a quick glance around the room and to my surprise I found my Aunty spread out in the middle of the floor. I raced over as fast as I could, but there was no movement what so ever. I went outside to get some help there was no one in sight. I ran back to her side the only thing that I felt like I could do was to grab my teddy, hold it tight and pray. I had never done that before but I couldn’t think of anything else to do. I sat on my knees and tightly squeezed hers and the teddy’s hand and prayed with all I had. I then grabbed the only blanket we had. It was old and brittle. I wrapped it around her thin, bony body and waited for about 10 minutes. Suddenly I saw movement, her eyes slightly opened and she squeezed my hand tighter. She opened her mouth and mumbled to me ‘under my bed is a box, when I am gone, get it and never come back’.

Later that afternoon I heard a shriek. I ran back into my room there was no sign of Aunty: she had vanished. I looked out on the roads there was only an old lonely man that lived across the street, who was stumbling about alongside of the road but he was harmless. So I followed her instructions. I crept into her cold, dark room and knelt down on her cold unbalanced floor. I lifted up her slim frail sheets only to find that there was nothing under her bed it was completely empty nothing in sight. I wondered to myself why she would give me false information, why would she tell me that if it wasn’t true. How come when she vanished so did the box. Then I started to wonder if there ever was a box, but she wouldn’t lie to me would she. I guess whatever was in the box must have been important enough to tell me never to come back. My mind was completely stumped.

Later that night Dad came home. I tried to tell him about what happened to aunty but he was really angry. He hurt my brother and I. He threw stuff at us and abused us. So my brother and I ran. We ran into the richest place about eight blocks down the road we put on our cutest faces and politely asked if we could use the phone. We rang the police. We felt really guilty but at the same time, pleased.

Dad was put into jail and we now live eight blocks down from our old house in the richest house on the road. We start school next week and we have our own beds. We still have to do chores but this time we get the money. We can spend it on anything we like I might even buy a red dress. But every day I think about what could have been under the bed.

It was a late Autumn afternoon a week before my birthday, when my mum seemed like she was in a hurry to take me home. At that moment I knew something was up. I signed myself off and hopped into the car.

For some reason my mum looked really nervous, like she was hiding something. And it turned out she was. I saw checking her rear view mirror every five minutes so I looked back and there sitting in a small cage was the tinniest little Burman x Tonkinese kitten I nearly cried I was so happy. Mum was a bit upset that I found out before we got home but she was pleased to see the way I reacted.

This is a story of when my parents were in South Africa cage diving with sharks. “I’m scared of this” My mum said. My Mum and Dad got there suits on and got into the cage. Only they were in for a big surprise.

They were lowered down into the water. Then after a few minutes of waiting a Great White Shark started swimming around them. “Whoa” My Dad mumbled to himself. Suddenly there was a bang on the cage behind them. They slowly turned around and saw a huge Great White banging into the cage.

“AHHHHHHHHHH” My Mum screamed as the cage was pulled up to the surface. “A good couple of hours of watching” My Dad said starting to laugh. And that was the day my Mum and Dad had a huge surprise and found out how strong Great White Sharks really are.

Music

In space where lance does his music everything must be strapped or bolted down when he plays. He plays the guitar and communicates with his friends to help perform his music.

Living

When lance lives in space he needs a TV which is bolted and strapped to the floor and wall. For his seat it is also bolted to the floor and one strap around the waist to make him not to float around the room. For the bed he straps himself in too, and pulls the covers over.

Conclusion

Lance bass gone up to space to raise 3 million dollars to donate to the very hungry and very poor. He will do this by living in space and producing his music doing science and communicating it back to earth.

Pop star Lance Bass has been sent to live in space for three months. He has to cope with day to day tasks like eating, sleeping, washing and going to the toilet. He also has to record music, do experim ents as well as dealing with the difficulties of living in space.

Washing

When Lance has a wash he uses water that is in a tube and a cloth that is velcroed to the wall also on the wall there is toothpaste, a toothbrush, and towels.

Food/Cooking

Lances food is stored in cans, packets and tubes. He has water as well but he has to use it sparingly because there is not much of it. To cook or heat up his food he has a microwave with straps inside to hold the food down.

Sleep/Exercise

Lance has a sleeping bag on the wall because there is no gravity. If you just had a bed on the ground you would float away. Lance has a treadmill 5000 for his exercise. He uses it to keep fit. His treadmill has shoulder straps on it to hold him down.

Toilet/Communication

Lances toilet is like a normal but it uses suction because if it didn’t waste would float away. There is a suction pipe for urinating as well. Lance has computers and an ipad which have Skype, Face book and other communication tools installed, with these programs he can communicate with his friends and family back on Earth.

Recording music

Lance has his own recording studio equipped with microphones, computers to record the music and headphones. For his instruments he has drums, piano and a guitar. He has soundproof walls so he doesn’t disturb the other astronauts.

Relaxing/Experiments

When Lance wants to have fun or simply relax he has computers and an I pad to play on. He has a big 50” L.E.D T.V that he can watch DVD’s on. Lance has experimental gear that he will use. Two experiments Lance will work on are 1) why do you start to lose your memory in space. 2) Why your taste buds don’t work as well in space.

Lance will enjoy his trip and love his module. He will learn a lot about space. Lance will discover how difficult it is to live there.

For educational purposes, Lance Bass is going into space and facing the challenges that would seem so easy on the Earth’s atmosphere. Everything in space is so much different to the life we live on Earth. For three months he is going to do everything he did on earth- daily life, communicating with family and friends, record music and do experiments, but in space.

Daily life is complicated because in space, as everything is so different than it was on Earth, even the simplest things are designed around the fact that space hasn’t got much gravity. Toileting in space has such a dramatic change from toileting on Earth. The toilet tube is like a huge pipe that connects onto an automatic pressure sewer, which is like a large fan that sucks the waste into a big metal box but prevents it from floating back into the station. Bagged and packaged food and water sachets are much, much safer than open food. With all the open electricity, satellites and power cords, Lance is careful not to let liquid touch them or they will not function properly. The food in cans and sachets are put into a small, roundish plastic bag. To open the hole in which the person eats out of, the person will have to squeeze the air bubbles on either side of the hole. Exercising is very important, just like on Earth. If some people don’t exercise on Earth they will get larger, and lazier. Since there is no gravity in space, the usual treadmill and weights won’t work as well as they did on Earth. Lance’s treadmill is hooked up to the power cord and is connected to the wall. There is a rope to tie the person onto and electronic handcuffs to keep the person safe. The running part is the same as running on Earth. Washing and bathing is probably the hardest part of living, in space. As Lance is not allowed to use much water, because of all the open electronic equipment, his washing machine and dryer are designed to work differently. His washing machine uses as little water as possible and he has a quick drying soapy sanitizer for his clothes. It has a fragrance of orange and is very useful to remove stains of any kind. His dryer works for five minutes at a time. It uses hot air that is more than 60°c. Lance brushes his teeth very much the same as he did on Earth. For this he also uses little water. He gets a flannel, washes and dries the toothbrush on it. For washing his face he also uses the flannel but dries his face with a dry cloth. Sleeping is one of the resources your body needs most. Lance sleeps on a metal bed that is bolted into the wall and has straps to hold his body and bedding down securely. His bedding includes: a thermal, heated sleeping bag with a steel headrest and a normal pillow. Relaxation is a normal part of everyday life. Since Lance is not with his family and friends, he tends to use the computer a lot. On his space craft, he has a specific satellite for communication. But even so, Lance is not alone. He has scientists working with him and has a couple of his not-so-close friends. Communication in space is just as important as it was on Earth. As there aren’t any phones or cell phones that are able to work on the space station, Lance has two computers that he uses repeatedly. He makes use of Twitter, Face book and Skype. Lance has a Skype- camera that he uses when he is talking to the people he is communicating with. Music is an important part of Lance’s career. Since Lance is a pop star he is to be provided with special equipment to use in space. He use equipment such as a voice recorder- that plugs into his computer, a guitar- that has a Velcro band around it which he can attach to another piece of Velcro when it is not in use, and his most priceless instrument- his voice. Experiments are part of a required education programme. Lance is experimenting on why people lose their minds in space. He needs to study books and use the Wikipedia set up in his computer. In his lab, Lance has a very special head piece that is designed to look in the chosen person’s brain and sends the information into the computer. This headpiece is used to find out why people lose their minds. Lance is waiting for the right time to use this particular piece of equipment. In his spare time he reads the selected space books on his bookshelf.

At the end of the three months in space, Lance will come back to share his experiences and how living in space changed his life.

Pop star Lance Bass has moved into space and is living on the international space station. His module is his new home, so it has to have everything he needs to live, record music, do science experiments, have fun and relax.

Recording Music

His music area has specialised equipment such as a Skype TV to talk with and play to his producers, and a 2011 model laptop with an exceptional voice recorder to record his music. He also has a guitar to try out and play new songs. On his laptop he can send his recorded music to earth through a satellite internet connection.

Science Experiments

Lance has a new science lab to carry out educated experiments. His science table is firmly bolted to the ground with bottles attached to the surface of the table. On his wall behind his experimental table are pieces of metal that can clutch bottles so they don’t float away. One of his experiments is to make a formula that can keep him from becoming ill in space. He also experiments on ball point pens. Lance is attempting to find out why they do not work in space. There is no gravity in space so the ink can’t run to the tip of the pen. He has a TV to communicate to children on earth and educate them on his experiments.

Daily life.

Mr Bass has all the things he needs to live. At the end of his module is a toilet which he can use in space. His toilet uses a suction pump and his human waste is put into a large sewer at the end of the space station. The suction pump is crucial in space because there is no gravity. He also has a washing machine that uses very little water and because there is no gravity in space the clothes tumble around by themselves. His dryer is almost the same, but instead of uses water it shoots out hot air to dry the clothing. He has three beds with straps to hold him down so he can sleep without hitting his head or body on surrounding objects such as the roof or the bottom of the next bed above him. He has cupboards that are attached to the wall, that contain prepared and cooked meals and snacks. His cooked and prepared meals and snacks to eat in space are different and because there is no gravity in space water or any fluids form bubbles. In space lance must be careful with water because there is a lot of electronic devices in his module.

Fun and relaxation.

Lance Bass has a giant flat screen TV that is connected with the satellite dishes. He has a game arcade with 40 loaded games that he can play when he needs to relax and have fun. He has a comfortable bean bag with straps to hold him down. The bean bag is bolted to the ground so it can’t float. This is a place where he can have fun and rest.

Pop star Lance Bass has everything he needs in space to live a daily life, record music, do educated experiments and communicate back to his friends and family on earth. There are many challenges while living in space such as water mixing with electronic devices, communication back to friends on earth, and living without gravity.

A famous pop star named Lance is going into space for three months to do experiments; Lance has to discover the difficulties in space. He already knows some of the difficulties and they are know gravity and know power. This is going to be really hard for Lance because it’s nothing like earth.

Daily LIVING

To go to the toilet in space, Lance has a suction pipe for all his business and this goes into a tank, and to wash his hands he puts a little bit of water and soap on his towel and soap and rubs it on his hands. When Lance goes to bed, he is strapped into his bed but not too tight so it isn’t uncomfortable, and to keep him warm Lance sleeps in a fluffy soft sleeping bag. To wash Lances clothing he hand washes them. He rubs soapy water on them and he does this in the shower because he doesn’t want any cords or special things to get wet. To dry his clothes Lance has a blowing hot air pipe that makes his clothes soft and puffy. Eating in space is difficult because everything floats so he has to grab hold of his food very well. When he drinks Lance has a straw and when he twists it, it opens so all the drink doesn’t come squirting out. Lance has a lot of canned food and stores it in a cupboard so it won’t go floating away.

Exercising

To work all his food off, Lance has a treadmill which he is strapped to. He also has an ab- circle- pro that swings side to side and this is to tone his abs. When Lance works out he moves very slow and this makes it harder for him.

Experimenting

Lance is experimenting in space he is going to see if you can grow thing in space. He is going to plant a seed on the moon. Scientist have realised that in space you. So Lance is going to find out why you lose that in space. Lance is going to see if there is living creatures in space like aliens..

Communication

Lance communicates with his family and friends on his laptop by face book and Skype on the internet. Lance has an international space station. This is a very special device. Lance likes to communicate because he likes to know what is happening on earth, and he can tell them what is going on up in space.

Music

Lance is a pop star and still needs to focus on his music. He records songs. The instruments that he uses are a guitar and a recorder. He has a microphone and some head phone he puts the head phones on his head, and he sings into the microphone this is so he can hear himself. The microphone stand is bolted to the floor so he can sing peacefully. Lance’s instruments are vectored to the wall. His music room is sound proof and it has a lot of buttons to edit his music. The lab is his favourite room.

So this is what Lance has to put with in space for three months!.

Lance has to have a special bed. His bed is just below the ceiling facing up. He is strapped in the bed so he doesn’t bump into walls and float around the room. The straps are tight but roomy enough to move.

Lances Lab Report

Lance Bass the singing superstar is going to space for three months and will be staying on the ISS (International Space Station). This report will outline what his compartment will be like in space, how he records music and how he communicates back to earth.

Living

Lances everyday tasks in space are much different than back on earth. The food defiantly not the same to earths. Lance can’t have normal food because it would float everywhere so instead Lance’s food is contained in cans but not the average can it’s been designed pacifically for space. Food is stored in big sacks which are held down by straps and Velcro.

The toilet isn’t a normal toilet. Instead of having water to flush it, it has a suction valve at the bottom so when you do your business it sucks it straight into a tank.

Due to there being no gravity lance will be sleeping in a bed similar to a coffin. This coffin has air holes around it. On the inside there are straps to strap him in and a latch so he can get in and out. He does have a washing machine in space. It uses very little water and has suction vents at the bottom to stop the clothes from floating everywhere in the machine.

He relaxes by listening to music on the laptop and playing computer games on the laptop.

Communication

Lance uses pretty much the same devices as we use on earth. He uses a laptop and a satellite dish to connect to such things as Facebook, Skype and Twitter. He’s got his own profiles on each of these sites so he can talk to his friends and family back on earth. On Facebook he has a special page where all he does is talk about space and what he has been through.

Music

Lance loves to record music so in space he needs a place to do that. On the ISS there is a special music room made for Lance. It has all the equipment he will need such as; a guitar, laptop and a voice recorder. His guitar but at the bottom of it there are two bits of Velcro. That is necessary when he is playing it so it doesn’t float everywhere.

He uses his voice recorder for recording his vocals. He uses a programme where he connects his voice recorder into his laptop and it downloads his music and sends it to his producer back on earth using the satellite.

Space

Lance didn’t just go to space for the experience, he went for the experiments. He wanted to know facts like how do you write, read and most of all eat in space. Lance will have a difficult time trying to do the simplest thing that people do back on earth. He says he’s up for the challenge. Some foods will be hard for him to eat because being in space effects the taste buds.

While Lance is on the ISS he will have a hard time trying to work out how everything runs. He will have to find a way to make a living with what he’s got and use the resources he has to live and communicate back down to earth. He will record music in his recording room as well as study space. Lets hope Lance will really enjoy his time in space.

Lance Bass pop star decided to do music

while running experiments of space

like ‘How people’s taste buds lose sense of taste?’ or ‘Why does space give people Amnesia?’ he needs to find out some answers for these type of questions he is also trying to raise three million dollars for his favourite charity.

Living:

In Lances Bathroom he has a mirror bolted to the cupboard that is bolted to the ground, a suction toilet which is connected to a big container to hold his waste and a toothbrush with valcro on the back to stick on the wall.

Kitchen

In the kitchen lance has a solar powered hob that is bolted to the bench, there is also two cupboards and a fridge that stores freeze dried food and sip cups of water that is valcroed to stick inside instead of having them floating around.

Music

In lances sound proof music room he has a recorder, a microphone, a guitar, drums and a radio he also has some blank disks so he can put his music on the radio or in the car.

Exercise

For Lances exercise room he has a Velcro shoe treadmill so he does not float off of it, he also has a press up board that has straps for his hands and feet he also has a cord across his legs just in case his feet come out of the straps.

Relax

For lances relaxing time he has a TV with a x-box connected to it which is bolted to the ground, a chair bolted to the ground along with a DVD holder and a snack draw with a microwave attached to the top of it, in lances bedroom he has the sheets sewn to the mattress which is bolted to the ground.

Science

For lances science lab he has a micro scope, a telescope, Bunsen burners and a lot of chemicals that come from various asteroids.

To communicate with his family on earth Lance has Skype, Facebook and Blog on his computer so he can see them every day.

Lance will have a great time in space but he might find eating, drinking and staying fit a bit harder than he thought.

Lance’s LAB A famous Rock star called Lance Bass has currently been sent up to space for three months. Lance has to face the difficulties of living in space, Recording his new hit single, do experiments, eating, sleeping, washing, having fun and relaxing.

DAILY LIVING

To go to the toilet in space, Lance needs to use a sucker. When Lance goes he will pull the sucker down and it will dispose of his sewage, it goes down thought into a tank

To wash his hands there is a block of soap and a tube of water. When he dries his Hands he has to uses a normal hand towel but instead of the hand towel sitting on a table it is velcrowed to the wall. When Lance goes to sleep he lays in his bed which is velcrowed to the ground and while he sleeps he has velcrow strapped across him. The Velcro strapped across him isn’t too tight but it is tight enough that he can still move around. It is also tight enough to keep his pillow, body, and blanket in place. When Lance washes his clothes he uses his block of soap and wipes it all over his clothes. Then gets his water and squirts it all over until the soap has all washed off. Then to dry his clothes he uses a pump that shoots out hot air.

COMMUNACATION

When Lance needs to communicate with his family and friend he uses his laptop which has Skype and the internet. To get on to the internet and Skype Lance uses a special satellite to connect with.

Music

When Lance wants to play some music he can go into a special room which is sound proof. The instruments that Lance has are a guitar, microphone and a recorder so he can record his songs.

EXERCISE

Lance can exercise using an ab-circul-pro and a treadmill. Both the ab-circul-pro and the treadmill are bolted to the ground. When Lance uses the treadmill and the ab-circul-pro he has to wear a gravity strap so he doesn’t float away.

FOOD

Lance has lots of canned and tinned food. Because he has lots he has to keep them stored in a cupboard. The cupboard is bolted to the wall so it doesn’t float out.

EXPERIMENTS

When Lance wants to do some experiments he uses liquids and a plastic tube one experiment Lance has been working on is why people start to lose their minds in space.

It will be quite difficult for Lance living in space. But Lance has all the things he needs and he should be all right.

Lances Lab

Lance is a famous rock star who is currently spending three months in space where he is going to have to face the difficulties of space and also write his new hit single do experiments, eat, sleep and basically live in space at the same time which is not easy.

Daily Living

Toilet:

To go to the toilet in space lance has a suction tube, which he has to attach to the toilet while he goes. For it to suck he has to squeeze it. The sewage then goes through the tube and into a tank that can hold 250litres of sewage.

Washing/Staying clean:

To wash his face lance has to get a clean cloth and drip two or three drops of water on it. Then he wipes his face with the damp cloth. To brush his teeth he does the same thing we do on earth, except he uses less water and tooth paste.

Sleeping:

Lance has to sleep in a pouch bed with straps. It is rather comfortable and the straps stop him from floating away while he is sleeping. On the outside it has a built in alarm clock, that is built especially for people who go to space.

Food:

To eat lance has to eat canned and Freeze dried food. He eats with spoon and fork for a knife is not needed. He has enough food to last him the whole three months. To cook his canned food he has a microwave, with built in magnetic force, so the food doesn’t fly everywhere.

Music:

Lance does his music in a sound proof room, so he can concentrate more on what his music sounds like. He records his music on a sound recorder. Lances music room is one of the warmest rooms in the space shuttle, because it has a small heater. This is one of the places he goes when he wants to chill out.

Exercise:

To exercise Lance has a running machine. It has straps that stop him from floating off it. Lance has to do this to stay healthy.

Experiments:

Lances science lab is another place he hangs out when he gets bored. It’s where he does his experiments. It has Velcro walls which hold his water, toiletry, and his science equipment. He also has a mini pull out table which Velcro’s to the floor, so he has somewhere to do his science projects, on plants and other objects.

Communication:

To communicate with earth Lance has two electronic items, an ipad and laptop. With these he can go on Skype and face book. Outside of the space shuttle is a satellite, so he can connect to Skype, face book and other obligations on Google.

Fun and Relaxation:

To relax in space Lance relaxes and hangs out in his lab and his music room, he has a lot of fun in those two rooms. He loves doing his experiments in his science lab and writing his new hit single in his music room.

As you can see it is very quite difficult for Lance to live in space but he didn’t just go to space to do his experiments or write his new hit single, he also went there to have fun.

Lance Bass is a rock star. He is currently living in space on the ISS (International space station). He wants to write a song about space so he has gone to space to get some ideas. He also went because he wanted to see if it was easy to record music there. Lance must also communicate back to earth and conduct experiments in his module.

Living

Lance Bass has a comfortable living quarters. His bed is like a sleeping bag but it is on the wall. It is on the wall because there is no gravity in space and it saves room. He has Velcro shoes and Velcro carpet so it holds him down. Lance has a fridge which is bolted to the wall with Velcro strips inside. Inside the fridge is canned food with Velcro the bottom of them so it sticks to the fridge. To cook his food he uses a microwave with again Velcro. To eat his food Lance uses a spoon and just spoons it into his mouth. If some fly’s away he quickly grabs it. Once Lance has gone to the toilet he closes the toilet lid and turns the suction pump on. The pump sucks up all the human waste and holds it in a holding tank on the wall. On the other wall is a two metre wide Velcro pad where he stores his water and cloths. His water is held in sachets with nozzles. To brush his teeth Lance must use a few drops of water which he has to catch on his tooth brush. To wash his clothes Lance has a washing machine that uses little water. There is no gravity in space so as a result of that the clothes tumble by themselves.

Exercise

To exercise Lance has a machine that pulls him down while he is doing squats. His shoes are Velcro to hold him in place.

Music

Lance has a small sound proof room at the front of his module. To record music Lance sings it into a microphone records it, puts it on his laptop and edits it (if he needs to).the he can send it to earth through his high powered satellite.

Communication

To communicate Lance has a high powered satellite. On the wall is a screen which he can see the person he is talking to. It is kind of like Skype but a lot more advanced.

Science

Lance has a science shelf on the side of his module. He is experimenting on how far sound carries in space.

Nineteen year-old pop sensation Lance Bass has signed a contract to release an album from the I.S.S (International Space Station). While he is up there, he will conduct an experiment to examine the effects of gravity on regular, and bacteria life. Inside Lance’s pod on the I.S.S, he will need, a recording studio, a place to work on his project, a place to exercise, a way to communicate with earth, and of course, a place to relax and have fun.

Communication:

Lance has a basic way of communicating. He has an i-pad2 that has been fixed to the wall. He has a personal satellite which can connect to earth. Lance has various internet Apps. Such as, Facebook, Twitter, Skype and a g-mail account. He also posts videos taken around the station onto You-tube, so everyone can see what he’s up to.

Experiments:

Scientists have noticed that the effects of living in space can cause memory loss and the loss of taste buds, Lance will record his experience with this. He has said he will also grow bacteria on special dishes to test the effects of gravity on a different form of life. He has reserved some space in his recording equipment where he keeps his samples. They are kept at a perfect temperature constantly.

Music:

For his recording setup, Lance has a large metal supercomputer that takes up one fifth of his station. There is a microphone attached to the equipment. For instruments, he has a keytar, which is the genius combination of a keyboard and an electric guitar. It is used for pop and techno music. There is a valcro strap that keeps it stuck to the wall. He has blank C.Ds that he inserts into a customizer slot in supercomputer. Once inside, he can burn music onto the disc, he also can edit the artwork for the album cover and the C.D cover when it is still inside.

Exercise:

Even up in the I.S.S it is important to stay fit. That is why Lance has good equipment. Firstly, he has a specially designed treadmill, it has shoulder pads which he wears, they are connected to the treadmill with tough elastic straps that hold him down. By wearing them he won’t float away by the lack of gravity. Secondly, he has dance mixes he plays on the pod’s built in stereo system (Lance loves to dance). The last form of exercise is his Jenny Craig D.V.D he plays on his built in D.V.D player. He watches it on his 52 inch T.V which is mounted into the wall.

Living:

Just like on earth, some things still need to be done. Such as sleeping and disposal of waste. He also needs to relax and enjoy himself. For a bed, Lance has something similar to what you might find on earth. It is a small pod-like shape, inside is a mattress, a pillow and a blanket. There are seatbelts to stop Lance from floating away. He has a mini-fridge where he keeps his freeze dried food which he cooks in his microwave that has been designed especially to cook freeze dried meals. In his fridge, he also has water. In the cold, vast area of space, water is kept in small packets; each packet has a nozzle coming out the top. When he squeezes the bag, a small amount of water comes out the nozzle.

Lance has his own bathroom. His bathroom contains a “urinal pipe” which pushes liquid out into space. For bigger waste, something similar is used. It is a toilet-shaped object which disposes excrement when you push the red button above it. There are cloths in the bathroom which he uses to clean his belongings by squirting a small amount of water onto the cloth; he also puts water on his toothbrush to clean his teeth. It’s important to stay clean in space. Lance is a gaming addict; he has a PlayStation 3 and games such as Monster Hunter Freedom Unite and Final Fantasy one to fourteen. He also has a magnetic chess board so he can challenge other passengers on the I.S.S.

Lance will be on the I.S.S for three months. He will carry on life as a citizen of New Zealand by doing things regularly done on earth, such as sleeping, exercise, record music and of course work on his project.

Lance Bass is a world famous Pop Star. He has been sent on a three month expedition to the ISS, International Space Station, to see how well he will cope in space. This report will explain how he will do his washing, exercising, experiments, record his music communicate with his friends on earth and do his day to day tasks in his space module.

Music

In the mini recording booth, Lance has foot straps to keep him from floating off while recording. His guitar is attached with Velcro to the wall so it doesn’t float when he is not using it. He has a mini recording sound desk where he can playback his songs, and adjust to his liking. He then saves the finished versions onto a usb stick, and inserts it onto his Laptop. There he adds images and sends it through a satellite dish which is under his module. The satellite then sends waves to a big satellite before going down to earth.

Experiments

Lance is required to make experiments in space as part of his mission. He will be figuring out how to use a pen in space. How to write with it without the pens ink all flowing out, or just staying in one place. One idea he has found is to use a pressurised air valve which will let the ink flow for one minute if you blow into it. There is also a button which opens/closes a hatch inside the pen, so the ink doesn’t flow when not being used. This is being tested at the moment.

Exercise

In space there is no gravity to pull you down while you exercise. So in Lances module there is a treadmill with squat poles on the side. These also have shoulder straps so he has something to keep him strapped to the ground. He also has moveable foot straps. Which move when you run.

Communication

In space communication is very similar to back on earth. Lance has a laptop and a T.V for communication. The signal is sent through a satellite dish which is under his module. This is sent to the nearest large satellite before being sent down to earth. Also on his laptop he has Skype which he can speak with his family and friends. His T.V is very similar to his laptop. It has Skype also and is used for business, interviews and playing music live.

Lance Bass has been on the ISS for one month. He still has two months to go. So far he has figured out some answers to the pen problem. He has carried out his operation on the funnel effect pen. He has had meeting with developers all around the world using Skype. His exercise programs have been going well. His living has been difficult though. He has been finding it odd. Sometimes forgetting he’s in space. On his time left he said he would like to finish his work on the pen experiment. He would also like to see his family soon and is considering taking the next flight home.

Protecting the Lab

In space comets and space junk fly around, sometimes a piece space junk hits the ISS if it hits a big part of the ISS it courses no problem but if it hits a smaller part, it can mean trouble laces lab has been installed with protective padding to stop it from making a big hole in the side.

The lab is the most protected part of the craft it has blast doors, for the experiment area the glass tubes are strapped down to the table he will be particles in space to find different chemicals.

Lances laptop is connected to a transmitter which connects up to a satalight. It has a webcam to show his face.

Bolted to the floor is a spiral treadmill that has velcrove belt and comes with Velcro shoes to stick to the treadmill so he doesn’t float away.

His bed is attached to the wall. The bed is like a sleeping bag. Installed into the wall is a sink that only drops one drop of water at a time. For entertainment there is a TV connected to the wall and on the compartment there are some cool games.

Over all Lances trip to space will be a great achievement for man and music players alike.

Lance Bass is a famous rock star who is in space for three months. He has to write music, do experiments, eat, communicate with the people on earth and basically live a normal life. In this report you will learn how Lance lives in the ISS (International Space St ation) and why he is there.

Communication:

Lance has a specialised TV so he can communicate with his family back on Earth. When any member of his family is on Skype or any internet site, he will get a little message at the bottom of his TV (which is touch)

Music:

Lance has a soundproof studio with his basic instruments such as the bass, guitar, microphone and the drums. His instruments have Velcro on the back of them and the Velcro is stuck to the wall so they don’t float, his microphone is on a stand and is bolted into the ground and is adjustable. He has a recording box with auto tune just to make his voice a bit better.

Living:

Lance has to wash, so he uses water which is in a special container so the water doesn’t float up and hit the electrical parts in the lab, his towel is stuck on Velcro so like the water it doesn’t float and he has normal toiletry such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and a comb. Lance has to brush his teeth with water and toothpaste then has to spit it back into his towel. He has nice clothes for space they are coloured grey and blue and he has special Velcro socks and shoes so he doesn’t float. (But if he wants to float he just takes he socks and shoes off!) Lance’s food is a bit better for starters he has a snack machine! He doesn’t have to cook anything he just has to push a button and the machine has breakfast, lunch and dinner stored in it for his three months.

Relaxing:

Lance has his own room just for fun, relaxing and even exercise. He has a TV, stereo, a DVD player and a lot of games. One of them is Guitar Hero (it’s like practice for him.) Lance wears his Velcro socks, so he can play without getting distracted while he is floating! He has a sleeping bag which is attached to the wall and when he is about to go to sleep he puts a strap over the top so he doesn’t float away in his sleep.

His exercise is just three basic machines an AB circle pro, treadmill and Wii Fit. Lance AB circle pro is pretty easy he only uses his arms to hold him down and he swings his legs from left to right. The treadmill is a little bit different he has to be strapped down. With his Wii Fit he is wearing his Velcro socks and his board also has Velcro so he is attached to it.

Why go into space???

1) Lance is going into space for inspiration.

2) Also he is doing an experiment.

3) His experiment is: Why do you lose your memory and sense of taste in space???

The ISS is very comfortable for Lance. He has all he needs to live well and is improving h is space skills every day! GO LANCE!

Lance Bass the singing super star is going to live in space for three months. Just to make things more complicated he still has to record music, live, do day to day tasks and still experiment on space at the same time. But the hard thing will be that he has to still take care of business back on Earth.

Living

In Lances Lab he will have a Velcro board. On the board there are quite a lot of water sashays. The water sashays hold 1.5L of water. They are velcroed down so that they don’t float away and damage expensive equipment. Also on the board there are velcroed towels so that when you do your teeth you can wipe your mouth.

Food & Cooking

Up in space you don’t get the best food. Lance has got biscuits that are in 40kg bags. There are six fridges around the craft and they are all full of Tuna and Chop Chop Chicken and other caned treats. Lance has some water but he doesn’t use much of it. When Lance needs to heat up his food he uses a microwave with Velcro to hold the food in place.

Clothing

Lance has taken along some sunglasses so that when he looks out a window he won’t get blinded from the sun. Lance will wear some special clothing with heavy boots so that he is able to walk on the moon.

Exercise

Lance has put weights in his room but they are strapped down so that they won’t float away. Also he has body armour so then he can be strapped down to the floor to make it as hard as on earth. Just to make it even harder when he brings the weights down it would be easy but when he pulls it up it would be very hard.

Toilet

Lances toilet is small but it does the same job. It has a strong suction pump. The pump leads to a big tank at the bottom of the I.S.S.

Recording Music

Lance is a singing super star is still going to record music in space. In his room he has 2 Ipads, one computer, and some guitars and all of these are in sound proof walls.

Communication

Lance has one computer that has Facebook, Twitter and Skype on his favourites that is all ready to go.

Experiments

Lance is experimenting on a Cell phone working in space. He is trying to see if he will get a cell phone signal in space by putting a signal in the space craft and he will try call his family without them knowing.

Bed

Lance has a special bed that pumps oxegin into it even if something goes wrong . His bed is great because the temperature can change quite quick.

Fun And Relaxing

When lance has nothing to do he will play magnetic games with his friends on the space craft

Lance is hoping to be back on earth and be with his family again he will be trying to get the next flight home.

Pop star, Lance Bass has moved into the International Space Station (ISS) for 6 months. He is going he is going up there to record new music and to do experiments about space. He is experimenting on things for educational purposes. There are a lot of difficulties in space because there is no gravity, no power and there are difficulties with communication. This is what he has got in his lab and what he is going to have to do in space to survive for 6 months.

Communication

Lances communication room is very specialized Lance has got a computer with Skype on it so he can communicate to his family and friends. The computer works with a special Internet satellite link.

Experiments

Lance is going to invent some new experiments that he could do in space. Lance start’s on the moon, he is going to plant a seed on the moon and see if it grows. While that’s growing he is going to do a new experiment which is why do people start to lose their memory in space?

Music

Lance is making some new music. He made up his own song called Famous. He recorded this song with a microphone that is hooked into a headphone so he could listen to himself. Then he burns it on to a CD on his computer. The computer works on a special Internet satellite link. The computer is bolted to the table and the table is bolted to the floor so his room is very specialized.

Living

To go to the toilet in space Lance uses a suction pump. He does his business into the pump and it quickly sucks it into a holding tank. He uses a suction pump because you can’t use a normal toilet in space. To wash his hands he uses a block of soap and a little bit of water. To dry his hands he uses a normal towel which is Velcroed to the wall. When Lance goes to sleep he sleeps on a bunk bed which is bolted to the ground and when he sleeps his pillow, blankets and him are strapped to the bed. When Lance wants’ something to eat he goes to his cupboard, which are bolted to the wall, where he can eat some canned food when he eats it he takes one out and makes it float and he eats it in midair so he doesn’t need a plate. Lance has to have fun and relax his fun and relaxing room is very cool. He’s got another computer with all his favourite games on it. He’s got a TV with his favourite programmes and a nice comfortable couch for him to sit on. Lance also has to exercise. He has got the Ab Circle Pro. The Ab Circle Pro is bolted to the ground and for Lance to stay on Ab Circle Pro he is strapped to it because he might float away. But he’s not strapped to tight because if he is strapped to tight he won’t move. For Lance to wash his clothes he gets a block of soap and scrubs it on his clothes then he gets water and washes the soap off. There’s a big pump which shoots out hot air and dries all the clothes that are wet.

While Lance is in space it will be harder to live in space than in earth. But Lance has got all that he needs: communication, music, fun and relax action and his experiments.

Lance will love his lab he will have everything he would need. Recording studio, Containment lab, and a Plasma screen T.V. This is the greatest lab on the space station.

Music

Lance will be able to record his music, down the left ladder; in his recording studio he will have a guitar and microphone. He will do this for 1 hour most days. He will put his cds in the cab and jog on the spot and he can take them home after the 3 months.

Living

Lance will be able to watch T.V sitting on the softest couch. This is the perfect place for a nap in his strapped down sleeping bag. To wash himself Lance will use a drop of water and put it on a towel. Then to brush his teeth he will use a tiny amount of tooth-paste and tiny amount of water. When he has some water he will have to watch the droplets in case they hit the electrical wires.

When he exercises he will be able to try our new elastic runner where, he will strap elastic onto his shoulders and jog on the spot. He also has his own Ab Circle Pro. This is bolted down, of course.

For his toilet he will have a pipe to urinate. This leads to a hatch. The hatch, when it is full dispenses the waste into space. To go N.o 2 he will go on a normal toilet, but he has a pump that will pump all the business to the hatch.

Communication

While Lance is in his sleeping bag he will be able to talk on Skype, Facebook and other applications. He won’t have any signal on his mobile and there is no telephone line that leads to earth. This will be the only way to communicate.

Experiments

He can climb down the right ladder into his science lab. He will experiment on what can survive in space and how long it can survive? Why people lose their memory and taste in space? And how long takes to walk 10m in space rather than earth? Other scientists have already blown up a piece of equipment so he will have to watch himself carefully.

While in space Lance will demonstrate how hard it is to live in space. Like recording music, exercising and communicating with his family and friends.

Lance Bass the pop star has been sent into space to make music while running space experiments. Such as ‘How does space make you lose taste buds?’ or ‘Why does space give you Amnesia?’ That is the reason lance has gone up to space. Lance will have to live up in space and bring all his food and water. He has three months to complete his mission.

Living

There are advantages and disadvantages while living in space. For instance, an advantage would be gravity. With no gravity Lance can move around freely, and even be able to reach things that would be out of reach with gravity.

-Eating in space may not be as easy as to hold canned food in, it looks but, with a magnet cupboard to hold canned food in, it makes everything easier to eat. With a built in can friendly microwave, cooking canned food is easy. It has a magnet at the bottom to keep the cans’ down. Cooking toast is as easy as pie, with toaster with a lid so that the toast doesn’t fly away.

-Sleeping while floating through space is not a good idea. But with this brand new magnet bed He will slide himself through and the magnets will hold him in place. He does not only have a blanket, he has a pillow as well. Lance won’t be sleeping in mid-space, he’ll be sleeping while attached to the inner wall of a space craft.

-Fun while floating in space is a lot harder then down here on earth. On earth Lance could just kick a ball and he would be having fun. But up in space it’s a lot harder. Seeing as there’s no gravity. Playing a free play Music would make him happy. But not enough. That’s why lance has an Arcade game that would excite him. Plus his laptop comes with a couple of amazing.

-Washing in Space is not like a normal shower where you can just turn a tap and water will come down. Lance will have to deposit water into a towel and clean himself with a wet towel. Even in space he will have to use a normal toothbrush and toothpaste.

-Exercise with gravity is easy, but without, not so much.

*Arms are easy to exercise when you know how, just as well Lance knows how to play guitar and drums.

*Legs are the easiest part of the body to exercise. A treadmill will work in space in space. The only problem is how Lance will stay on? Straps obviously. They will strap his waist to the appropriate height for him to run.

Music

-Instruments, Lance will continue to record music while in space using his normal instruments. All together; Guitar, drums, vocals and keyboard, create music.

*Drums have a special ring to them that keeps the song in rhythm. Lances chair is welded to the flour. The top has straps to keep lance down on the chair to make it easier to play.

*Guitars create catchy tunes that Lance will use to create an impressive song. Lance can sit on his drum set chair too, while playing guitar.

*Keyboards are an electrical appliance that puts electrical/Different sounds in Lance’s songs.

*Microphone/Vocals. Lance adds his vocals by singing into the microphone. All of Lance’s instruments are plugged into his laptop for him to record sounds

-Recording using a mixing panel is easy the panel is to change the pitch and volume. The instrument recordings can only be put together using a laptop.

Communication

Normal phones don’t work in space, that’s why lance has been given;

-A) A satellite phone. Is one of the only ways to communicate with Earth. There’ are many satellites around the earth for Lance to send messages to his family, friends and the scientists working on the theory’s of space.

-b) Facebook, twitter and Skype are also an excellent idea for Lance. His laptop is also plugged into the satellite, not only for Facebook, twitter and Skype, but also to send his music.

Extra laptop features

-Extra net access. This allows Lance entrance to any site on the web.

-Sound and graphic options. Lance has the ability to do anything to do anything with this feature. Both of these will help lance with his research and his song writing.

Experiments

Space is an amazing environment. while up there lance will analyze the atmosphere to see what causes loss of taste buds and memory. He has been given equipment to help him in his research. Hopefully he will come back with the answers

Lance has enough food and water to last over the three months. He also has extra toothpaste, (just In case) over the period; Lance may have written and made two songs at least.

Lances Lab

Living in space is not an easy thing to do. There are aspects of living in space that are upsides but also can be major downsides. Like no gravity. Lance will have a bit of fun floating around, but what happens if he needs to go toilet? People have to design special toilets and design something for every useful household object.

Lance Bass has asked for a module to be designed for him. He plans to live in space for three months so the module has to fulfil his living needs.

Recording Music

The pod is well equipped for recording music. It has a guitar, saxophone, keyboard, microphone and a computer for recording the music. Although the keyboard is in another room it is highly portable with removable magnetic devices to hold it down. Singstar has also been downloaded onto his computer for a warm-up. Also when the guitar and saxophone aren’t in use they are strapped to the wall. He can edit his music on the computer and also put scenes with it on windows movie maker (the computer has a camera). Lance will easily be able to continue his career of singing while in space. Keeping him partially entertained. But is it enough? Bringing up the next topic.

Entertainment

Lance will be quite happy on the space station. He has a TV with 200 channels and an Xbox Kinect. He has a special couch with seatbelts for comfortable watching. Lance also has a whole bunch of games on his computer including chess, solitaire, Singstar, Age of Empires (the entire series with expansion packs) and he has the internet so he can play any game on that. He can also download games from the internet so he will never be short of games. He can always play music too if they get bored. The only thing Lance has to worry about is getting morbidly obese.

Exercise

Lance has a squat machine with straps to make it actually challenging because if there weren’t any straps he would be able to do it effortlessly. There’s also a treadmill with straps. Those are the only exercise machines but if he practices on them every day he shall remain fit. Computer games also practice finger strength.

Communication and Experiments

Lance’s computer is fully equipped for communication since it has Skype and Lance has his own satellite. So communication is a breeze. While Lance is up there he plans to do an experiment, to test out a theory. Supposedly when in space taste buds seem to disappear. Lance is going to test out this theory by rating his food out of ten every time he eats. The rating will eventually decline and once it gets to three the test will stop. Every Day Life

For sleeping Lance has a special bed. To make it portable we have attached magnetic devices to this as well. To stop Lance floating around the bed has straps or bedbelts. To keep him warm Lance has an electric blanket that he also puts under the bedbelts.

Lance has to cook everything in its container then slowly slurp it out with the lid partially open. To store his food he’s got a minifridge.

To go toilet Lance has to lay his faeces into a suction toilet. For urinating he has a suction pipe. For washing he has to use very little water so that makes drying very easy. So Lance shall be able to do everyday tasks. Although they won’t be as easy.

In conclusion Lance Bass has everything he needs to live in space. He will be very happy and cheerful, he may even want to stay longer than three months.

Lances Lab Report

Pop-teen sensation lance Bass is going to be staying at the ISS (international space station) for the next three months. In this report you will learn about his home in space. It includes his day to day tasks, relaxing, music, communication back to earth and why he is even going to space.

Day to day Tasks:

For his everyday tasks he has most of the normal equipment with just a few small changes. All his kitchen appliances are bolted to the floor and they all have magnets or straps inside to hold things in place. His bed is strapped to the wall during the day. Then at night it is lowered down to the floor and is held there by special magnets. He has to strap himself into bed so that he doesn’t float in the air. His toilet is a suction toilet so it flushes pretty much 24/7. His waste is flushed into a 200L holding tank. His washing machine is satellite powered and washes and dries his clothes all-in-one! To wash himself he has to carefully squeeze some water into a cloth and then wipe it all over his face. He has to be careful as any free water could damage any electronic panels. To cook his food he has special pots and pans. He gets his food out of its straps in the cupboard. Then once the pan is hot enough Lance pours his food in. The hot pan becomes sticky so that the food does not float away. He has to be holding the pan at all times and his feet are strapped to the floor.

Music:

To record his music he has his trustworthy guitar, a voice recorder and his laptop. All of Lance’s equipment is velcroed to his special space desk when they are not in use. He sings his songs into his voice recorders and emails them back to his producers through his laptop. When he gets back he will re-sing them. These are just the base songs so he doesn’t forget his ideas.

Communication:

To communicate with his family and friends Lance has skype, facebook, bebo and twitter setup from the satellite. He has his laptop to talk to them. Lance talks to them every day and discusses how things are going with his family and work colleagues.

Relaxing and Fun:

To relax Lance plays on Sims, Wii, Buzz or play station on his 50-inch flat screen TV. Otherwise he sings along to one of his hits on sing star. He gets sing star every time! Or he’s just sitting on a bean bag listening to or playing music.

Why Space? :

Your probably wondering why Lance is even going to space. Here are four good reasons why:

1) He went to space for inspiration. For his music, life and fans.

2) He went to be away from his fans and the pressure of being famous.

3) He went to get a better understanding of what other people experience. He wanted a similar experience for his future career.

4) He needed a new study, something else to work towards. He experimented with the difference of gravity and its effects. He found out that NO gravity in the ISS makes life a whole lot harder.

Living in space is harder than living on earth as it affects the way you are used to living. Lance is coping well as he has all he needs: Relaxation, communication, music, and similar day to day tasks. Also, Lances family and friends are encouraging him all the way!

The Pheasent And The Chooks

When I looked out the window I saw a pheasant so I quietly went out to look thinking it would just fly away but it didn't it stayed with the chooks, so I called the chooks and fed them then the pheasant came running to.

It stayed with the chooks all day so we thought it must have been someones pet but when night came and I went to shut up the chooks it wasn't there. The next day it wasn't there but the day after that it showed up at the chook house waiting for some food so I feed it and the chooks. It is sort of like a pet now but it is not quite friendly enough to pick up.

The New Speedometre

When my dad was nine he got a new speedometer for his bike. He and a friend found the steepest hill in Oamaru which happened to be beside a cemetery.They decided to test out the speedometer there.

They went flying down the hill trying to get maximum speed they reached 80 kilometres per hour (according to dad) when they got the speed wobbles they both skidded out of control and fell off. Mark (my dad ) wasn't hurt but his friend had blood all over him. They scattered home and Mark's mum totally freaked out when she saw the state of him his face had turned white and he had blood all over him. She patched him up and rung his parents luckily there were no broken bones.

The next weekend they went to watch his friend play tennis covered in plasters. Ever since he hasn't rode down that hill.

In the first day of the weekend soccer was canceled so I practiced for winter sports and played ping pong on the Kinect. At 5:00pm a friend of mum came up, and for dinner we had chicken pie.

in the second day I went to Alex's house it was really fun there, we fed the ells there pieces of bacon one of them were huge, we also climbed big trees but at 3:00 it was time to go.

Back in the 1970's when my dad had just started at a much, much different Maungatapere School, the field was being extended. When the school bought the land from the Northland Dairy Company, my poppa helped with the hoeing and the grubbing to make the field flat.
When the field had been finished, there were trees to be planted. My poppa grew all the shelterbelt trees from seed. The trees had been grown in our nursery at Redwood Orchard.
Later Poppa became the school groundsman and he looked after the field, the trees and the swimming pool. He made sure that the pool was clean enough to swim in and that the school had no litter in its grounds.
Poppa mowed the all of the open areas on his tractor-mower , while my dad used the school's ride-on mower for around the trees and buildings.

I Don't Think I Was Ment To Eat That.

When my mum was a little girl her older sister told her that if you like butter you like buttercups so to prove her wrong she ate one. As soon as she put it on here tong she recoiled in disgust and ran two km to get back home so she could tell on her and when she got back she got sent to bed without dinner at 4 o’clock in the afternoon. That served her right. When she was 9 she made a milk shake with beetroot juice because she liked the colour, but that’s another story.

30^thof April Rebecca her sister Claire and I went down to the creek. We were having a great time. We didn’t want to go back so we went even further, BIG mistake!

We were fine at first. We saw two eels, a couple of sparrows and a fantail or two. Then we saw a fence but it was flattened, so we kept going. It was after we crossed the fence that we started to hear noises.

We’d gone about an hour down stream. We couldn’t see anyone but us and we couldn’t hear anyone but us and the noises. We were starting to get a bit freaked out. But we thought we were getting worked up over nothing. So we kept going.

When we came to a clearing we were standing under very crumbly rock! So we had to run through the ankle-deep water. Then when came to a clearing Claire said to quickly hide behind a rock. I asked her what she’d seen. “A man in a helmet.” Then she told us to: run!

So we practically sprinted under the crumbly rock, and when we came to a clearing we thought we could stop so we did. But then we heard a voice behind us so we sprinted off again. We kept running over rocks through trees then after about half an hour we came to the start, But we didn’t stop we went up the path until we could see people and they could see us. Then we basically collapsed on the ground from running so much in so little time.

We haven’t gone down there since. But I plane to go there again soon.

The worst mistake ever!

The worst mistake ever!

When my dad was only about six, he went to Helena Bay Hill School. They had furnace instead of a big bin to be taken to the dump. That’s how the worst mistake ever happened.

One day my dad had to take out the bin to the furnace to be burnt. He had to take three bins. So he carried one at a time down to the furnace to burn the paper.

So he got to the furnace, he set the full bins down and lifted the lid and poured the first bin in. He went down to pick up the second bucket he forgot to shut the furnaces lid. Just before he poured the second bin, a big gust of wind blew and a small piece of lit paper came out of the furnace and went over towards the big school hedge, and, WHOOOSH!! The hedge burst into flames! Like colourful fireworks, red, orange and yellow.

Of course he was scarred. So he ran to the school buildings and hid under one of them. But he found him, and got the strap, because they didn’t know it was an accident.

But everything’s ok, the hedge is grown back to it’s normal state. Now it’s just a funny story to share!

That Sickining Smell

A couple of weeks ago we went somewhere to look at a car and this is how it happened.

“Eva get in the car we need to get going or we won’t get there in time” called me as she was locking the door. “Yes mum, coming” I said flying through the door with a pillow in hand. I wasn’t going to sit there and twiddle my thumbs, I was going to have a quick 40 winks. At first it was hard go to sleep but in the end I got to sleep.

We were in kawakawa and I had woken up, I was hungry but I dad didn’t stop. We were coming out of kawakawa and dad said it was only around one hour to go. I was starting to feel a bit queasy because we were in my granny’s car and it had one of those little smelly bags and the road was winding a lot.

An hour later we pulled in a driveway. At last we were there. Mum and dad jumped out of the car but I just opened the door. After a little while I got out of the car. Once I got out of the car we got into the car we were looking at to go for a test drive. There were heaps of spider webs were the doors met the car. Mum drove down the road first, the road was bumpy. We got down to beach road, mum pulled over and dad got into the driver’s seat and went back to the house.

Mum and dad ended up buying it. I didn’t feel too bad on the way home. (Thank goodness for that) Mum and dad were going to go and pick up the car the next day. Mum said that I said that I didn’t have to go with them. Yess!

As I woke up my cousins started to yell its Easter Its Easter then me and my brother brad got our Easter egg from my mum and dad.

As me and brad were heading back to my cousins cabin as I slipped on my cousins ball and hit the picnic table.

As I pulled myself back up I had lots of blood coming out of my mouth and a two front teeth that were aching too.

Then I had some of my small egg then my cousin Leroy came and gave all of us an egg except one because she did not want to give him an egg so she missed out so then I gave her my egg for two little egg then I went to get a hot chocolate then we had a Easter hunt.

Northland Polo Horse Trek

Last Saturday I went to the Northland Polo Fundraiser Horse Trek. My Dad is the captain of the Northland Polo Club, so we kind of had to go. Dad woke me up at 6:30am! I got dressed into warm clothes and gumboots then set out to catch Paris, the 15 hand 6-year-old thourghbred that we are grazing at our house for the winter. I took her out the gate and over to the horse truck. Dad decided to leave her cover on as it was a bit chilly. I took her up the ramp and Dad and I jumped in the cab. Then we were off.

First we went down to the dairy, filled up the truck and had a sausage roll for breakfast. Then we headed out to my Grandparents place to pick up two of the other horses. We arrived and loaded up Castor and Dione (the other horses). We kept going and arrived Tangowahine, at the horse trek. The trek was going up the mountains at Michael Youngers farm. We arrived at about 8:00am and unloaded the horses. Then Dad went over to register while I took the covers off the horses.

Once everyone had arrived, they all registered and the two people that were riding Dione and Paris came, they all set off. I was left with the others who weren’t riding to cook the onions and sausages, butter bread and organize cakes.

Two and a half hours later they all came back along the track. I ran outside to help dad unsaddle Castor and give him (the horse) a wash. Once all the horses were sorted everyone came inside for some lunch. There were speeches and the works, and then everyone started to leave.

All the Polo people stayed for about one hour later and had drinks. We raised over $2000 for Northland Polo and had a great time. Then Dad and I loaded up the horses, were given about 50 leftover sausages, 2 loaves of buttered bread, a 2 litre bottle of tomato and BBQ sauce and a bottle of mustard then we drove off. We dropped off Castor and Dione, then arrived home unloaded Paris and went inside for some dinner. (Sausages, bread and sauce!)

One afternoon I got put in a glass tank and named Bubbles. E

Ever since then, I have had animals look at me, stare at me and even watch me and all the others too. I think it’s kind of random.

One day two animals brought in some rocks big rocks. It was cool with a k. I thought they were going to put it in the tank but no they had to scrub it, clean it, wash it and even let it dry yet it was still not in our tank. It sucked a lot because now we don’t have anything to hide in except the weed that is fake.

Bubble's Life

Hi my name is Bubbles and I am the smallest fish in the tank. I have a rainbow coloured tail and a silver body. There are six of us in the tank, there were eight but I kinda got a bit hungry last night, but hey, they didn’t feed us yesterday so it’s not my fault. We got put in here the day before yesterday. We came from a small creek which is about an hour away from here. But in our tank there is a big Air Slide it is so much fun!!!! My new friends are: Larry who is sleeping as usual, Stella who is looking into the glass doing her hair, Mrs Guppy who is dusting the fish tank, Higgy who is playing Hide and Go-Seek with the snails and Steve who is banging against the glass trying to get out.( Which we all know that it obviously won’t work, so we all have learned to ignore it.) So this is my life and hopefully I’ll have a fishy girlfriend and will grow taller and fatter by the time I next see you. (Probably not!!) Bye!!

A Freaky, Fish Tale

“Come on fish, keep swimming!” I yelled as I frantically searched for somewhere safe to hide.

“Ahhhhh!” shouted one of my friends as a big, thick net swooped around her and picked her up.

“Marcie!” I shouted. The big net lowered down again and began to scoop my family and friends up. ‘Keep on swimming’ I told myself as the dangerous net cornered me. I was coming to the end of the stream, when suddenly I was lifted up into the outside world.

“Mum I caught one,” the human said.

“Good job Courtney,” another one answered.

“I think that’s enough.” I was carefully lowered into a white bucket.

“Abby!” cried my friend Marcie.

“What’s happened?” she said.

“I don’t know,” I replied. I turned around to see all the worried townsfolk talking quietly amongst themselves.

"Let’s go mum,” a voice beamed. Suddenly the bucket was lifted up.

“Let’s get some rest,” I advised. When everyone had seemed to have nodded off, I slowly opened my eyes. Hopefully everything would be alright.

When I woke up I screamed. Obviously it woke everyone else up too.

“Oh my fish fins!” one of the stubborn fish said.

“Arhhhhh!” I yelped. I slowly swam forward.

“Where am I?” I cried. All of a sudden the other fish swam forward.

“AHHHHHHH!” she yelled.

“Seriously,” I said “Can’t you see there are other things to think about?”

Instantly, a man opened the top of the glass tank. Immediately we all swam up to get some of this heavenly smelling food that had been sprinkled on top of the water.

After we had all had a marvellous feast, one of the youngsters swam over to this black thing.

“What’s this?” he said peering underneath it.

“Help!!!!” he screamed. I quickly turned around. He was gone! ‘I better stay away from that thing’ I thought.

“I bags the jug!” I yelled. I could be here a while so I had better get the best bed!!!

The Monster Fights

I woke up in the morning with a loud thud that hit the deck of my bed room floor. My whole family got woke up by it but they took it as an alarm and we all started packing our two cars and our boat. It took a long time to put all of our gear in to the cars and the boat. The only thing that was keeping me going was thought of catching a 30 pound snapper, so we all hop into the cars and he head off to Cable Bay in the Bay Of Islands.

Once we arrived at the boat ramp it was time to put the boat into the water. Dad had scrambled off to park the car and once he was done we all hoped into the boat. The direction the boat was heading was straight for Cable Bay on Urupukapuka Island. Once we arrived it took us around 2 hours to set up camp. When Dad and I had enough we headed out to catch some bait fish for our fishing trip tomorrow morning.

We were already prepared as dad and I had caught some bait fish the other day for our fishing trip. Dad and I raced out in our boat to Whale Rock. Hay Josh throw out the sea anchor said Dad. When we put our first live baits down we had to put up with some HUMUNGUS fights.

Dad and I arrived back at the bay and I showed off my 8.5kg Snapper to everyone on the beach. Dad had decided to do the same thing and he held up his 7kg Snapper. Mum and Katie got one big shock but in a happy way. Later that day Marcus, Mike and I went out to Bird Rock to catch some bigger fish we were planning to catch some Kingfish. The reason the rocks name is Bird Rock is because there have being so much birds that fly around there and they all poo all over the rock, the hole rock is completely white. That was the day when I caught my first Kingfish it was only 1cm under the legal limit. At the end of the day we arrived back to the bay with one Kingfish caught by Ethen only 3cm bigger than my one that put back.

Later that week everyone started to leave. My whole family had to help other family’s pack up. When the last lot had left it was just us and some other Campers.

After a long time off packing up we loaded our boats and after we had said good bye to our friends and this lovely island it was time to push off the boat and we jumped on. It took a long time to get to the boat ramp because we were going so slowly so I tried to occupy us all so we started to say what was the best thing that happened. I said “catching a big 8.5kg monster snapper. I can’t wait until next year’s monster fights.

Yay. Today is the day when I go to pick up Kieran from Auckland. But it doesn’t come until 7:00 P.M So I played on my Xbox 360 with FILTION, XxPUINxX, JOE PINEAPPLES, and Cheese cake man.

6:30 time to pick up Kieran. Once we picked up Kieran we had Subway for dinner. Yum! By the time we got home it was bed time.

On Saturday Kieran and I basically played Halo: Reach on Xbox 360 on Xbox live all day with FILTION, XxPUINxX, JOE PINEAPPLES, and Cheese kake man. Cheese kake man was the best

Sunday, time to wave Kieran Good Bye. But not until 5:30 P.M so we played on the kinect the games we played were kinect adventures, kinectamils, and kinect sports. 5:30 dinner then we waved good bye to Kieran

So I had fun as well as Kieran. He also made some online friends as well. I am also going to make him an online account.

The rain was back. The rain had gone last night, but it was back. Dad asked if I wanted to go on the beach while the rain wasn’t hard.

The tide was right up by the top of the sand! My cousin must have seen us and came with us and brought my sister and my uncle, basically everyone.

My cousin found a purple jelly fish. We found another and another and another. We kept finding purple jelly fish everywhere!

We got to the bend at the part of the beach where it turns into road. The road was completely covered in water! So we waded through the ankle deep water. Then we walked to the other side of the beach and back. We couldn’t find any more jelly fish purple or not. Afterwards we went to my cousin’s house. It’s right by the beach. Because it was raining we made some Milo, but we added extra powder and sugar so it was like hot chocolate. We sat down and watched TV. for a bit.

“Hey, it stopped raining!” I said. “Let’s go on the beach again!”

I asked if we could but mum said no. So I looked at it instead. When I got there, there was no sand, No place to walk, nothing! Just water. So I went to the others and told them to come with me. So they followed when we got there their eyes just about popped out of their heads! “WOW!” they said altogether.

We went up to have dinner, watched a movie then went to bed. Outside I heard the wind whispering away.

As I lay down I thought: would the water still be that high tomorrow? As I thought about it I fell asleep.

“Food” I cheered as my Aunt Robyn and I squeezed our way through the crowd to the food stall, we got a hot dog and chips with a drink each, then we raced as fast as we could to find our seats, as soon as we sat down, there had been an announcement saying ‘Nitro Circus was about to begin.’

‘Munch, Munch, Bite, Munch, Slurp.’ As I ate I watched the introduction which was introducing everybody that was participating, including New Zealand’s own Levie Sherwood, First off was the wacky ideas; “what, a bogie board with wheels” I said surprised, as the guy that rode it climbed up the stairs to the top of the gigantic ramp, but as that happened, Godfrey’s daughter came down on a kids three wheel tricycle, she jumped about 6 metres in the air, and then Godfrey came down on another tricycle.

“Surf’s up guy’s” exclaimed the guy with the bogie board with wheel’s, (zoom) he raced down on his stomach on top of the bogie board, (whoosh) he flew right in the air with his legs dangling behind him, Down came another guy who was on skis and this is what he said “This is the closest thing to snow we’ve got so I figure I at least got to give it a try.” (Jump) “That looks like fun” I replied, as soon as he landed the announcer at the top of the gigantic ramp said to the hosts “uh, guy’s, I’ve got a shopping trolley up here” “a what?” one of the hosts asked “a hopping trolley” answered the announcer in a high pitched voice, the guy riding it was wearing roller skates so he didn’t have to sit in the trolley, he let go in mid air and the trolley crashed to the ground, the guy on the bogie board had an idea, so he raced down the gigantic ramp again and in mid-air stood on the top of it, just as he landed he fell off, it was funny to see the slow-motion version on the big screen. Up next was the Crazy Trick Trains, the first of them wasn’t very interesting, just a normal jump, secondly, the tail whip, each getting bigger and bigger until they were 135* turns, finally the back flip , all the same except the last one which was a double back flip, the crowd went crazy, after the next stunt they went crazier; a bike jumping with a side cart.

“They must be nuts to go down there on a skate board” I exclaimed, at the top of the girls jump, She did a nose grab (grab’s front of board), the second time around, She had don an Indy (grab’s right side of board) “are you kidding me?”I asked being oratorical, I saw that a guy was riding down the gigantic ramp on a chilli bin and landed the jump. During their 25 minute break, I got a shaved ice, the flavours that I chose were; Raspberry, Strawberry, Blue Bubblegum, Lemon and Lime, I also got hot dounuts, 5 of them to be exact, and they were delicious. As soon as the break had finished, the guy in the wheel chair attempted a forwards flip, but feel off as soon as he landed, to say as a joke he said “I think I’m going to be in a wheel chair for the rest of my life” so at the top of the gigantic ramp again, but instead of a forward flip, he did a back flip, and landed it without falling off. Up with the motorbikes again, (zoom, whoosh) up in the air, that was high, and while he was up there he did a perfect double back flip and landed successfully, I thought that was crazy, but the next stunt is completely nuts, he’s up in the air again only higher, the guy completely perfected the landing of a double forwards flip.

At the end of the show my Aunt took me too her batch, luckily I had my camera, I recorded the second 10^th of the first half, “”Did you enjoy it, Daniel?” asked my aunt Robyn “Of course,” I answered “It was awesome.

Yay! We finally found the right bay Enteco bay. I looked over and saw a familiar face on a boat that was just anchoring, it looked like Sara but I wasn’t sure, I told dad and we went over for a look. As we got closer I saw Jessie( Sara’s sister). We hopped aboard their boat and had a look around. It started getting late so we went back to our boat for dinner.

The next day we woke up bright and early. The sun was shining and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky, the water was clear blue. Dad said “Why don’t we ask if the Taylors want to go biscuiting with us. There’s not so many boats in here”. “Yeah” we shouted. I grabbed my togs and got dressed into them. After 10mins of trying to find the pump. We opened the cupboard and there it was. Dad pumped it up then tied it on to the dinghy. Jared, dad and I hopped in and zoomed off to the Taylors boat. We asked Glen (Sara’s dad) if they’d like to come biscuiting with us. Before Glen could say Yes or No Sara, Jessie and Kate came running out in their togs all ready to go. So they hopped into our dinghy and we zoomed to shore. We took turns, I was first. My heart was pounding I clinged to the biscuit. Dad started up the motor. All of a sudden I’m slipping and sliding everywhere my fingers were slowly peeling off but I was determined to stay on. “Ahh Ahh” It was coming up to the corner. I swooped out to the side. The water was flat until I zoomed over it, water was rushing from behind me. I was gripping on so tightly my hands were going red. I slowly started to let go when I then realised we had stopped. I jumped off and gave it to Sara she clambered on and away she went. She was so fast it almost looked like lighting. She soon arrived back to shore we all had a couple of turns then it started getting cold. So we hopped in the dinghy and went back to our boats. Then at about 7:30pm we heard a motor we looked outside, it was the Taylors. They had come to join us for dinner.

We all woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed. The water looked warm so mum and I decided to go for a swim. I got out the ladder and hooked it in, I slowly put one foot in and shivered a bit, then I quickly put the other one in. SPLASH!!! I screamed. Dad had jumped off the top so I scrambled my way back onto the boat and onto the top. I leaped out into the middle of nothing I slowly fell splash I hit the water. I swam back to the ladder and did it all over again. When finally after two hours of nonstop swimming we decided to see what seafood we could get.

We started up the motor and in no time we were out by the black rocks. Dad baited up the lines once they were all baited up we let our lines out. After an hour we’d caught nothing and dad was starting to get annoyed so we headed back to the bay. Luckily at the Kerikeri supermarket mum had bought lots of seafood.

It was time we had to leave. I had a quick swim. The water was so nice I didn’t want to hop out but sadly I had no choice. I had a warm shower. And we carefully potted back to the mooring. Once we arrived mum and dad loaded up the dinghy we clambered in and zoomed to shore. We packed the car with all our stuff and had along ride back. Not that I noticed because I slept the whole way back.

Yee ha rainbows end. It was gangster, mean as at first. I went to the scorpion carts first. It was slow, but good.

Next I went to the Fear fall. I got on the Fear Fall. We went up, up, up, up! It was freaky! Bang! It was fast, woow, I was so scared. I went white it was like jumping out of a airplane.

After that, I went to the family carts. It was my favourite. I went fast.

Bro, lollies. I went to get some lollies. I got the munchies and went to the rollercoaster. I got in and I was off. Man it is cool. I saw my brother Adam and He told me we were going home. I got off the rollercoaster and went home.

Rainbow end was awesome. I would like to go again. Next time i will go on the log ride because I missed out this time.
